Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. This allows us to offer personalized, client-centered care without restrictions from insurance companies, such as requiring a diagnosis or limiting session types. However, we’ve partnered with Mentaya, a service that helps you check your out-of-network benefits and may even file claims for you. You can use the tool on our website to see if you’re eligible for reimbursement.

We also accept HSA and FSA cards, and can provide a superbill if you prefer to submit claims on your own. In compliance with the No Surprises Act, all clients receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of services.

What does a typical therapy session look like?

A typical therapy session lasts about 60 minutes and is a safe, confidential space where you or your child can explore thoughts, feelings, and challenges with a trained therapist. For children, sessions often involve play, art, or storytelling to help them express emotions in age-appropriate ways. Teens may talk more directly or use creative tools to process what they're going through. For couples or families, sessions are focused on improving communication, understanding, and connection. Each session is tailored to your specific goals, and your therapist will guide the conversation at a pace that feels supportive and respectful.

What are your rates?

Rates vary depending on the therapist and session length. Kayla Crane, LMFT, specializes in couples therapy, individual adult therapy, and EMDR. Her sessions are $215 for 60 minutes, with extended options available at 90 or 120 minutes.

Hope Saunders, MFTC, works with children, teens, individual adults, and families. Her sessions are $140 for 60 minutes, and she also offers 90-minute sessions for more in-depth work.

We’re happy to help you choose the therapist and session length that best fits your needs. Feel free to reach out with any questions about what to expect.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is confidential. At South Denver Therapy, we prioritize your privacy and adhere to strict confidentiality standards. Information shared in therapy sessions remains private and is protected by law, with few exceptions such as imminent risk of harm or legal requirements. Our commitment is to provide a safe, trusting environment where you can openly discuss your concerns without fear of disclosure. Your confidentiality is paramount to us.

How long does therapy take?

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, the issues you're working through, and how often you attend sessions. Some clients come for just a few months to work through a specific concern, while others choose to stay longer for ongoing support or deeper healing. Your therapist will collaborate with you to regularly check in on your progress and adjust the plan as needed. Ultimately, therapy moves at your pace and is tailored to your unique needs.
