EMDR Intensives
Months of healing in days, not years. Our EMDR intensives give you concentrated, uninterrupted time to process trauma and finally move forward—without the start-stop of weekly sessions.
What Is an EMDR Intensive?
Traditional EMDR therapy happens in weekly 50-60 minute sessions. That works for some people. But for others, those weekly sessions feel like reading one page of a book at a time—you lose momentum, forget where you were, and progress feels painfully slow.
An EMDR intensive changes that. Instead of spreading your healing over months, you dedicate half a day or a full day to focused, uninterrupted trauma processing. No waiting a week between breakthroughs. No losing ground between sessions.
Research shows intensive EMDR can be just as effective—sometimes more effective—than traditional weekly therapy, in a fraction of the time.
Why Intensives Work Better for Many People
- No momentum lost between weekly sessions
- Complete processing of memories in one sitting
- Less "opening and closing" of trauma
- Deeper therapeutic relationship in concentrated time
- Better for busy schedules—no weekly commitment
Choose Your Intensive Format
We offer flexible options based on your needs, goals, and the complexity of what you're working through.
Half-Day Intensive
A concentrated session that allows for deeper processing than weekly therapy without a full-day commitment. Includes breaks and grounding time.
Full-Day Intensive
An immersive day dedicated entirely to your healing. We'll work through multiple targets and have time for thorough processing and integration.
Who Benefits Most from EMDR Intensives
Busy Professionals
Your schedule makes weekly therapy impossible. Blocking off one day feels more doable than months of appointments.
Veterans & First Responders
You've seen things that stay with you. EMDRIA-certified therapy designed for occupational trauma and PTSD.
Stuck in Weekly Therapy
You've been in talk therapy for years. You've gained insight, but you're still triggered. Time to try something different.
Ready to Heal Now
You don't want to spend the next year in therapy. You're motivated, committed, and ready to do the work.
Parents on Leave
Maternity or paternity leave? A rare window to invest in yourself before returning to the chaos of daily life.
Specific Issue to Target
A car accident. A medical trauma. A specific memory that keeps haunting you. Let's process it and move on.
What to Expect During
Your EMDR Intensive
Free Consultation + Preparation
We'll meet for a 15-minute call to make sure an intensive is the right fit. Then you'll complete intake paperwork and we'll have a prep session to develop your coping tools and create a treatment plan.
Grounding & Assessment
We start by making sure you feel safe and grounded. We'll review your targets, check in on how you're feeling, and prepare your nervous system for the work ahead.
EMDR Reprocessing
This is the heart of the intensive. Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, taps, or sounds), we'll process your target memories. We take breaks as needed—this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Strengthening & Closure
We install positive beliefs, strengthen your resources, and make sure you leave feeling stable and grounded—not raw and exposed. You'll have tools for self-care in the days that follow.
Follow-Up Support
Processing continues after you leave. We'll schedule a follow-up session to check on your progress, address anything that came up, and determine if additional work would be helpful.
EMDRIA Certified
Meet Your Therapist:
Carissa Keeter, LCSW
I'm Carissa. I specialize in helping people heal from trauma—whether that's childhood wounds, military service, first responder experiences, or a single event that changed everything.
I'm EMDRIA-certified, which means I've completed advanced training beyond basic EMDR. It matters because trauma work requires precision, attunement, and knowing when to push and when to pause.
As a military spouse myself, I have a personal understanding of the challenges service members, veterans, and their families face. I also use CBT, DBT, and Internal Family Systems depending on what you need.

What Clients Say After Their Intensive
"I'd been in talk therapy for 5 years. I understood my trauma intellectually, but I was still having panic attacks. After one EMDR intensive, those same memories don't trigger me anymore. It's like the volume got turned down."
"As a first responder, I couldn't commit to weekly therapy. The intensive format was perfect—I took one day off, did the work, and felt different immediately. Carissa understood what I'd seen without me having to explain."
"I was skeptical that moving my eyes could do anything for trauma I'd carried for 20 years. I was wrong. The intensive gave me my life back. I wish I'd done this years ago instead of just coping."
