Carissa Keeter, LCSW

Hi, I’m Carissa Keeter, LCSW. I believe therapy is more than a process—it’s a partnership built on trust, compassion, and the belief that meaningful change is possible for everyone. My greatest joy as a therapist is helping clients rediscover their sense of self, build resilience, and take confident steps toward the life they’ve been longing for. I want therapy to feel safe, collaborative, and deeply personal, not like a one-size-fits-all experience.

I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma, whether from childhood, complex life events, or serving in the military or as a first responder. As a military spouse, I have a personal understanding of the challenges service members, veterans, and their families face. That experience helps me create a grounded and supportive space for healing and growth during life’s toughest seasons.

As an EMDRIA-trained EMDR therapist, I also use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I tailor therapy to each person’s story, helping you process trauma, navigate anxiety or depression, and adjust to new phases of life with understanding and care.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida and my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Boise State University. I’m licensed in both Colorado and Florida and feel truly honored to walk alongside individuals and families as they move toward healing and growth.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find me outdoors with my husband and our four children. Whether we’re hiking, exploring, or simply soaking in the sunshine, I try to live out the same balance and connection I help my clients create in their lives.
